This site has been up and running
for five years now--in all manner of shapes and sizes. This
site is usually decked out in my current "Flavor of the
Month" and changes frequently.
The main purpose of this site is to supply
child-friendly sites for kids in grades three through eight on a
variety of curriculum oriented subjects. Having been a Media
Specialist [which is a fancy name for school Librarian] for many
years, I have seen kids looking for the simplest items on the
Internet and taking hours to accomplish what one book + ten
minutes might have done. There is certainly a need for
reference books but it is not always practical. Most people
don't own one of those thousand dollar sets of printed
encyclopedias or a copy of the latest almanac. The Internet
lets us use up to date information. Hopefully, this site
will make school information easier to find so that you can get to
the stuff that's really important--like Gameboy.

I have been a Media
Specialist for 16 years and love to work on websites. In the
past few years I have been lucky enough to work with some very
nice kids on sites for ThinkQuest, an educational website
organization. The year before last, we won the Platinum
Award with Kidz
Hospital Talk. The team members each won $1000 and loved
coming up with ideas on how to spend it. This year my team
won Grand Prize in the contest + an $1100 computer + a trip to San
Francisco. Click here
for that site.
As in anything, practice makes perfect.... or
more perfect. This site grows along with my web
experience. It is exciting to see what is being done in
technology and trying to keep up!
Thank you for visiting!
